About Me

Hello, my name is Logan Westerviller, and I am a student of the Hilliard Darby High School.  In all my years of high school, I have always been so involved with music, taking every opportunity for something new.  All four years of my high school I have been in the Hilliard Darby Marching Band, playing tuba.  I play tuba in concert band as well, even going as far as performing in various other groups (including, but not limited to, OSU Honors Wind Symphony, OMEA All State Band, and OMEA South-Central Regional Orchestra), and ever since my sophomore year, I have been involved with choir, singing as the lowest bass.

However, aside from band and choir, I also compose my own music.  I've been composing music ever since 8th grade, which is normally extremely young for a composer to start.  Now I didn't know anything about music theory back then, and even when I took the music theory class my freshman year, I still didn't understand too much.  My band director has helped me over these past few years to make my music better and better, and it's really helping me understand not only music theory, but music composition in general.  So what I've done for my capstone is to use what all I've been taught by my director, and see how appropriately I use this knowledge, and create a new song that would sound as professional as I possibly could make it.
